I'm Arianne Sheikh (MNCPS)
I'll meet you where you are.

My counselling practice is integrative. Person-Centred counselling provides the foundation, with Transpersonal Psychology, Gestalt, Existential Therapy, Jungian work, Dreamwork and Somatic Experiencing available when they may be helpful.

Before qualifying as a counsellor, I spent more than 20 years working in holistic and complementary health. My experience includes clinical bodywork with people living with chronic pain, Shamanic Counselling, Clinical Aromatherapy and Scaravelli-inspired Yoga.

My own background is diverse and cross-cultural. I welcome people across cultures, identities and ways of relating, including LGBTQ+ people and those living within diaspora communities.

I bring lived experience of neurodivergence and have worked for many years with adults who received an ADHD or AuDHD diagnosis later in life. I am particularly interested in supporting sensitive and empathic people who can feel overwhelmed by busy environments.

What matters most is the relationship we create together: a space where you can feel safe, accepted and free from judgement.

Services

Body, mind and soul belong in the same conversation. I draw from different therapeutic traditions according to the person and the moment. You do not need to decide which approach you want before we meet.

Integrative Counselling

Person-Centred counselling sits at the heart of my work. Other approaches give us different ways to understand what you are experiencing, without imposing one fixed method.

Neurodivergence & High Sensitivity

I work with adults who are neurodivergent, including people diagnosed with ADHD or AuDHD later in life. Sensitivity, empathy and overwhelm can all be part of the conversation.

Creativity & Feeling Stuck

I work with artists and other creative people who feel blocked, uncertain or distanced from the part of themselves that creates. Stuck places can have something useful to tell us.

Chronic Illness & Physical Experience

My lived understanding of autoimmune conditions and chronic illness is supported by more than 20 years in holistic health. We can attend to how illness affects identity, relationships and creativity as well as the body.

Culture, Identity & Relationships

Culture, sexuality, identity and relationships are welcome in the room. I am an LGBTQ+ ally and work with people from diaspora and cross-cultural backgrounds.

Walking & Talking

When the weather allows, I offer the possibility of walking and talking alongside the Forth, bringing the natural environment into our work together.

A collaborative process

I will not arrive with a fixed account of who you are or what you need. We work together, staying curious about what supports deeper understanding, connection and a renewed sense of possibility.
